A legal storm is brewing around Colombian streamer Stiven Tangarife, better known to his followers as MrStivenTc. The law firm Víctor Mosquera Marín Abogados announced this week that it filed a criminal complaint against him back in June, accusing him of “abusive carnal access” with a minor under 14 — a serious sex crime under Colombian law that carries a prison sentence of 12 to 20 years.
According to the firm, the case has already been assigned to a specialized unit within Colombia’s Attorney General’s Office (the country’s equivalent of a federal prosecutor), which is tasked with investigating crimes against children. The lawyers say the decision to go public followed consultations with child-abuse specialists, and they stressed that the alleged victim’s identity will remain confidential to protect her privacy.
Just a day before that announcement, however, Tangarife’s own legal team released a statement flatly denying the allegations, calling them “false and baseless.” His lawyers insist he has not been formally notified of any investigation or judicial proceeding tied to the accusations, and they suggested the claims may be part of a coordinated smear campaign spreading across social media and entertainment sites.
