Salmon is classified among the migratory fish, it means they are capable of living in both fresh and salt water.
However, it is considered a freshwater fish because it is in the river where spawning takes place.
The red color of salmon is thanks to the ingestion of fish and crustaceans. Plus, this gives an excellent flavor to its meat.
This flavor can be highlighted with multiple preparations: marinated, steamed, grilled or roasted.
We bring you different choices so you can enjoy your favorite.
Marinated salmon in the oven
Marinate is to season food with one or several elements and let them complement by osmosis, says Free Recipes.
This process might modify taste, smell, texture or color, and this what we are going to do next.
1 kilogram of salmon loins – fresh or frozen –
For the marinade:
100 ml of apple cider vinegar or cider
50 ml of chardonnay vinegar or white wine
½ pound of mineral water
1 pinch of fennel seed
1 handful of parsley branches with logs included
1 piece of orange
1 piece of orange peel
1 bay leaf
To begin with, prepare the marinade. Place all the ingredients in a bowl and crush them at maximum power.
You can add other ingredients if you’d like.
Let them stand for 1 hour in the fridge and then strain them through a Chinese strainer or cheesecloth.
While the marinade is ripe, prepare the loins of salmon.
If you bought it fresh, you should flake it, clean it well and cut it into loins.
After the ripening time, place the salmon loins in the marinade container or in an airtight bag.
Meanwhile, let the fish seated for 1-hour reserve in the fridge.
Once the marinated salmon is placed, drain it well, dry it with absorbent paper and place it in a bowl full of sunflower oil.
Preheat the oven and take a suitable tray or fountain and place a piece of greaseproof paper on the base.
Drain the marinated salmon loins very well and place them on the tray.
Cook the salmon for about 15 minutes or until you see that it acquires a brown tone on the top.
Once is done, serve the salmon with a salad, mashed potatoes or the side dishes you prefer.
Salmon burger with avocado and cream cheese
This is a great idea for dinner. You’re welcome!
2 salmons burgers
1 tablespoon of fried onion
4 lettuce leaves
The first thing to do: leave all your ingredients ready! Wash the lettuce, remove the avocado peel and the bone and cut it into slices.
Likewise, cut the tomatoes into slices.
We cook grilled salmon burgers, already made, with a splash of olive oil.
While the hamburgers are cooking, we open the rolls in half and toast them lightly so that the sandwich is more crispy.
Once roasted, we take the base of bread and place on it a bed of lettuce chopped to taste.
Put the tomatoes slices and any other ingredient you’d love.
Now, place the hot salmon burger and spread all the cream cheese you want.
On the cheese, sprinkle fried onions.
Caramelized onions are also a perfect choice.
Later, put all the avocado you want (we won’t be watching). But, you know is a vegetable to exaggerate with no guilt.
Finally, we closed the salmon burger, accompanied by chips or a rocket salad.
